As the CEO of the Davis Street Community Center, Rose Padilla Johnson assists San Leandro residents through a range of services. Rose Padilla Johnson is an integral part of establishing the center’s food bank. This platform for feeding San Leandro’s underserved communities began 48 years ago. Since this time, the center’s food distribution program has been one of the main services to residents in the Eden area, including San Leandro, San Lorenzo, Cherryland, Ashland, and Castro Valley. Residents suffering from food insecurity can get help from the food pantry during business hours, from Monday through Friday, between 10 am and 5 pm. Those who need assistance can pick up food at the warehouse door or have the food taken to their cars. Clients who are seniors or who are identified as at-risk can have grocery bags delivered to their homes. During the holidays, the center also makes food accessible through its giveaway program. In fact, residents can register early online to participate in the holiday food basket program. via WordPress https://ift.tt/30QcyQl
